Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Environment introduced legislation to reform the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) scientific advisory processes. The bill, H.R.1422, the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2013, makes changes to the EPA’s Science Advisory Board (SAB) to enhance public participation, improve the process for selecting expert advisors, expand transparency requirements and limit non-scientific policy advice. Original cosponsors of the bill include: Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), Vice Chairman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), Chairman Emeritus Ralph Hall (R-Texas), Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) and Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.).

Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) introduced The White House Tour Resolution, asking President Obama to refrain from taking more vacations at the taxpayers’ expense until he reopens the White House for tours.
U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Reps. Rob Bishop (UT-01) and Chris Stewart (UT-02) have introduced legislation in the Senate and House, respectively, that would transfer 100 acres of land currently owned by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to the city of Fruit Heights in Davis County. The land will be used as a cemetery for the city. Fruit Heights currently has an agreement with neighboring Kaysville for burials, however due to the significant population growth the region has seen, Fruit Heights has been notified that its residents will soon no longer be able to be interred in the Kaysville cemetery.
