Fish and Wildlife Director: “We are not proposing to reintroduce wolves into Utah."
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Chris Stewart questioned the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Dan Ashe, at a House Interior Appropriations Hearing. Stewart pinned him down on topics including the Mexican Wolf and the Utah Prairie Dog.
There have been concerns that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to introduce the Mexican Wolf and the Gray wolf into Utah. During the hearing, Mr. Ashe told Congressman Stewart, “we are not proposing to reintroduce wolves into Utah."
Ashe also committed to working with, not around, Utah’s local communities on Utah Prairie Dog conservation plans.
